Personalized Recipe Box

Do you remember seeing this little box in my

Organizing the Baking Cabinet

post?   It's my personalized recipe box, which holds all of our family favorite recipes.

I made this box using an unfinished box (from Craft Warehouse,) scrap paper, a few embellishments and mod podge.  I really wish I had a tutorial here to show you, but unfortunately I didn't take photo's of the steps, as this box was made before I began blogging.

It's actually really easy and fun to make. Simply cut the papers to the fit around the box, then glue them on with

mod podge

. Mod Podge is great! I use the matte finish. Next, glue on all your embellishments.

After adding all the little details that I wanted, I sealed the entire box with a coat of the mod podge.  This box is done very similar to the

Greeting Card Box

I  made.

When you open the lid, this is what you see:

"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." Psalm 34:8

:)

I made individual cards to categorize my recipes.

and matching recipe cards as well:

Try the Chicken Poppy-Seed recipe - it's real yummy!

There you have it... my personalized recipe box, which sits in my baking cabinet...

... next to all my cookbooks.

This would make a great gift for anybody too. Especially a new bride.  If you're planning a bridal shower, how about this idea: Create a box like this (you can then use it for decoration at the shower.)  Send out invitations to your guests with a blank recipe card and ask each guest to bring their favorite recipe for the bride to be.  The guests bring their favorite recipes and the bride to be has some great recipes to try and a personalized recipe box.

Or you can do like I did, and create a box for yourself with all your favorite recipes inside.

Happy Creating!
