Supplies for DIY Flower Pens
You only need a few inexpensive supplies to create your own flower pen bouquet:
Artificial flowers with stems
Ballpoint pens
Floral tape
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
A small flowerpot or decorative container
River rocks or decorative stones to hold the pens upright
Ribbon or raffia for decorating
Cardstock or paper for printable flower sayings
Mod Podge (optional, to protect paper decorations)
Choose artificial flowers with colors that coordinate with your pot and ribbon. You can make a matching set or mix different flower styles for a colorful arrangement.
How to create this arrangement:
Attach the flowers to the pens
Trim the flower stems as needed. Use a small amount of hot glue to attach each flower stem securely to a pen. Be careful when working with hot glue, and keep the glue away from the writing tip and any moving pen parts.
Step 2: Wrap the pens with floral tape
Starting near the flower, wrap floral tape around the stem and pen to cover the attachment point. Continue wrapping down the pen as desired, keeping the tape snug.
Add a small piece of raffia or ribbon for an extra decorative touch.

Step 3: Decorate your flowerpot
Choose a small flowerpot or container to hold your flower pens. Add ribbon around the pot or decorate it to coordinate with the flowers.
Fill the bottom with river rocks or decorative stones to help keep the pens upright and stable.
Arrange your flower pens
Place the finished flower pens in the pot, arranging the flowers so they look like a little bouquet. Adjust their heights and positions to create a full, colorful display.
The pens rest nicely in the river rock.
Add personalized flower sayings
For an extra-special touch, add a small message to the center of each flower. Gardening-themed sayings are especially sweet for teachers!
I wanted to personalize the gift for our wonderful teachers, so I called my mother and together we came up with this poem:
I also wanted to add some sayings to the middle of each flower:
So I created these circle tags, then printed, cut them out and mod podged the paper (so it won't tear.) Then I simply hot-glued them to the middle of the flowers...
...and I LOVE it!!
