My 2011 Christmas Décor Home Tour

I just love to bring my Christmas Décor out each year and prettify my home in lights and garland and ribbon and sparkle and glitter and all things Christmasy!

It’s all been set up for the last month or so and I’m finally getting around to sharing it with ya’ll.

Enjoy my 2011 Christmas Décor Home Tour.

I already showed you my new

Willow Tree Nativity Set

which is set up on a table in my entryway:

This is the view when you walk through the front door.

I do LOVE my staircase. Especially at Christmas time.  Next year, I think I’ll add to the garland.  I have a vision of what it can be and I already can’t wait to create it, BUT it will have to wait, as this year, I’ve run out of time.

Off my entryway, to the left, is my

Craft Room

.  This wreath began as a boring, plain wreath and I just added to it until I liked it, then finished it off with a bow.

This is my kitchen at Christmas time. (Sorry for the blurry pictures)

I added the same ribbon and faux poinsettias from last year to my barstools.

and a little pop of red on my counters.

The breakfast nook/eating area is dressed up with more ribbon and poinsettias

and a fun new centerpiece with candles that I stole from my bedroom.

and a greenery piece that I threw together with anything I could find in my Christmas bins.

I hung snowflake ornaments from my chandelier this year. As you can see we don’t get much snow around here.  We still have semi-green grass and it’s December 23rd!  I’d LOVE to have another white Christmas, like we did a few years ago.

The family room is where we spend most of our evenings.

AND the tree. OH, the tree!  the TREE!!! This thing almost fell over a couple of times, so my husband tied it to the wall with fishing line. If you look closely at the top right of the photo, you can see the line that leads to a screw on the wall, under the curtain rod.  The fishing line actually works.  We’ve had to do this in the past as well.

AND it stopped drinking AND is getting very dry.  Needles keep falling AND I keep finding spiders (grr.. I so, dislike spiders.)

It will be out of the house the day after Christmas AND I WILL be shopping for a fake tree right after Christmas too.

I wanted a fake tree THIS year, but I took a friends advice to wait until after Christmas to get one on sale and have it for next year. (Good thinking, Janelle!)

Why does a tree just stop drinking?  I mean seriously, the stand has been full for many days now and just isn’t changing.  What’s the trick? Does anybody know?

and this year my angel sits atop the tree.  For the last many years, she sat on my entry table, which is now replaced with my new Nativity Set.

I set up my village the same as last year.  One new larger piece was added, which makes a total of 13 big pieces NOW!  Why, you ask? Read my

Christmas Snow Village Post

from last year to find out. ;)

I so wish I would have done a post on how I made the swag garland above the fireplace.  You would have laughed, had you seen it before I started filling it in.  It’s about 2 or 3 pieces of garland pieced together and two swags on either side.  Then I added the lights, the ribbon, the bow and a few ornaments.  It’s come a LONG way from where it once was.

The stockings are now in the entry way hanging from the garland on the stairs.

Another pop of red poinsettia sits on a table in my living room.

and the piano is done similar to the way I had it last year.

with glass jars filled with ornaments.

I LOVE glass jars!  I’m thinking that these ones will be going into my laundry room.

Speaking of my laundry room. My hubby booted me out of the house the other day and when I returned, I was surprised by an early Christmas gift, which I’m SO EXCITED about!!  I’ll share that in another post.

I love pretty pops of red at Christmas or anytime of the year, for that matter.

Going through the living room, leads you back into the front entrance:
