It makes a great gift too!

You simply must try this recipe! It's MMMM mmmm good! {yours may look a bit different than the pictures,  because I ran out of popcorn seeds and didn't have quite enuf, so mine is extra caramelly.}

This recipe is from a family cookbook.

  • 15 cups popped popcorn (3¾ quarts)

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • ½ cup butter or margarine

  • ¼ cup light corn syrup

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F.

  2. Divide the popped popcorn between two 9×13-inch baking pans.

  3. In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt.

  4. Cook and stir until the mixture begins bubbling around the edges.

  5. Continue cooking for 5 minutes.

  6. Remove from the heat and stir in the baking soda until the mixture becomes foamy.

  7. Pour half of the caramel mixture over each pan of popcorn.

  8. Stir until the popcorn is evenly coated.

  9. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

  10. Allow the caramel popcorn to cool before serving.

Variation: to make JELLO POPCORN , omit the brown sugar and add 2 small (3 oz.) boxes jello {raspberry, strawberry, lime, any kind jello is good}

Not only is the jello popcorn just as great tasting, it's so pretty too!

Enjoy!

May you be a little inspired.

Until Next Time,

DaNita
